Simple Discipleship for Ages 9-13 is a 22-session program designed for parents (in both the traditional and spiritual sense) to use with sons/daughters/participants ages 9-13. This program offers the essentials in a manageable, palatable way, and it equips leaders to fully embrace a lifestyle of discipleship beyond the 22 sessions.

Since I created my original Simple Discipleship program, I’ve had parents and student ministry leaders asking if it would work for them to formally disciple their kids. I think the original program can be a great fit for ages 14 and up, but I wanted to offer something better adapted for ages 9 to 13. After lots of prayer, meeting with student ministry leaders and wise parents, and considering what I learned during my time as a middle school teacher and curriculum writer, I’m happy to offer Simple Discipleship for Ages 9-13. I am so pleased with the end result, and I hope it’ll inspire you to both formally disciple your daughter or son and to informally disciple him or her “as you go” (Deuteronomy 6).

This program includes:

• Two designs to ensure your son/daughter’s buy-in: the sleek design (ideal for mixed-gender groups or those who prefer a simpler aesthetic) and the pretty design (ideal for those who prefer hand-lettering and girlier features). [Note that the “pretty design” is the original version of this program, which was marketed exclusively to mothers and daughters and thus contains lots of mother-daughter language. However, it is the same content and can be used by any leader with any student.]

• PDF: Parent/Leader Binder that educates, equips, encourages, and expands on the vision

• PDF: Son/Daughter/Participant Binder for parents (and spiritual parents!) to give to those they’re discipling and work through together

• iPhone background intended to inspire you to have an “as you go” mentality as described in Deuteronomy 6

• Access to the password-protected “closet” that contains helpful videos and resources, access to the original documents if you lose your download or need to download a more updated version, and manipulatable context and memorization documents if you want to create your own content beyond the 22 weeks.
